16 Days 2023 - Online Toolkit

The 16 Days campaign aims to raise awareness about sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) as a human rights issue at the local, national, regional and international levels, whilst also strengthening local work.

This year, the LWF marks the 16 Days just two months after its Thirteenth Global Assembly and the publication of a Gender Justice Toolbox which provides resources and guidelines on prevention and response to sexual and gender-based violence.

During the Assembly, LWF crafted additional resolutions on ending sexual and gender-based violence as well as revisiting resolutions made at the Twelfth Assembly in 2017. The 16 Days therefore challenges member churches, especially, to translate the resolutions into actionable activities throughout the year. We are also celebrating ten years of our Gender Justice Policy, a key document that has shaped its engagement on gender justice and women’s empowerment.
