Report of the Special Committee “Luther 2017: 500 Years of Reformation”
The report of the Special Committee “Luther 2017: 500 Years of Reformation” submitted to the LWF Council in June 2013 provides a framework for anniversary commemorations and program planning.
In addition to outlining the principles and goals of the LWF’s Reformation 2017 commemorations, the report introduces the overall theme for the anniversary - Liberated by God’s Grace - and the three sub-themes for the period 2015–2017:
- Salvation—not for sale
- Human beings—not for sale
- Creation—not for sale
It makes recommendations for the actual anniversary celebrations, including the LWF Twelfth Assembly and Reformation Day 2017 (LWF Sunday 2017).
