
The goal of the LWF Endowment Fund is to ensure we can continue the good work the LWF has been doing since it was founded in 1947. The fund was set up in 1999 with a CHF 20 million target set for 2017. By the end of 2021, the value of the fund was CHF 15.’65 million. During the year, contributions to the endowment fund totaled CHF 30’498. In 2019 the fund distributed in total CHF 968’438 to LWF programs.
An independent Board of Trustees manages the fund. Gifts and legacies from individuals, churches and organizations are welcomed.
The Fund’s capital is kept in perpetuity with annual earnings going to designated LWF activities.

The LWF endowment fund was set up in 1999 with the aim of raising CHF20m by the end of 2017. Its goal is to ensure the LWF can continue its good work by distributing funds across the specturm of LWF programs around the world. The seven members of the independent Board of Trustees that manages the fund represent the global regions of the LWF.
Adrienn started her working life at a multinational private company, then moved to the nonprofit sector. She worked as vice-director of a regional innovation agency and later, she led the strategic development department of a municipality. Currently holds the position of Director for Research and Development at ÉMI, one of the bigger Hungarian public companies managed by the Prime Minister's Office.
Adrienn is very active in the Hungarian Lutheran Church; she is member of the 10th Synod, expert in economic and development committees at different levels and last but not least, she plays the organ at Sunday services - due to the fact that her husband is a Lutheran pastor.
Adrienn lives in the Northern part of Hungary, Miskolc and joined the Board in 2014.
Clement is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania. He has spent more than 30 years as a management consultant working for clients in Africa, Europe and North America. Clement lives in the Moshi District of Tanzania and joined the Board in 2013.
Lars is currently serving as Executive Secretary for the Social democratic unit in the General assembly of the Church of Sweden. He is a member of the Church of Sweden General Synod and the International Commission. His working life has been spent in public service. Lars served as Mayor in the Municipality of Eskilstuna and, later as MP in the Parliament of Sweden. Lars lives in Eskilstuna, Sweden and joined the Board in 2016.
Olaf is responsible for the fund and foundation management of the church district of Mecklenburg, Germany. With a long background in finance, Olaf is honorary treasurer of the LWF German National Committee (GNK/LWF). In 2017, Olaf was appointed as Treasurer of the Lutheran World Federation. In this capacity, he participates as an ex-officio member of the Endowment Fund Board. Olaf is from Schwerin, Germany.
Hannah is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Malaysia. She is a Nutritionist by profession and has a master's degree in Science. She is a daughter of a missionary from India to Indonesia from the Tamil Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is a wife of a Malaysian diplomat. As a wife of a diplomat Hannah had the opportunity to serve in many countries including Thailand, Kenya, Canada and Austria. She has worked in the U.S.A and Malaysia as a Nutritionist and Dietitian. She actively takes part in Church activities mainly in singing, Women's Bible studies etc. Hannah has been an Advisor to the LWF Council. She has participated in various LWF activities in the Asia region and knows many of the churches' Leadership.
Hannah lives in Kuala Lumpur and joined the Board in 2016.
Robin Steinke is President and Professor of Systematic Theology at Luther Seminary in Minnesota, a position she has held since June 2014. She is the first woman in the 145-year history of the seminary to be named to the position. Prior to coming to Luther Seminary, she was the dean of the seminary and professor of theological ethics and public life at Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. She previously served as an Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) pastor; a training manager and financial planner at American Express Financial Advisors. Robin is a Council member of the Lutheran World Federation and a member of the Committee for Theology and Ecumenical Relations. Robin joined the Board in 2010 and currently serves as Chairperson.
Rudolf was ordained as minister at the Evangelical-Reformed Church of Basel. He served as a parish pastor at the Evangelical-Reformed Church of Buenos Aires, Argentina and, later at the Swiss-German Parish of the Protestant Church of Geneva, Switzerland. He was also, for 12 years, the Director of the French-speaking Secretariat of Swiss Inter-Church Aid (HEKS-EPER). Rudolf served the LWF for 10 years as Director of Personnel before his retirement in 2012. He is still well-known by many of today’s LWF staff. In his position he worked closely with colleagues, several of whom are also members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Geneva. Rudolf lives in Geneva, Switzerland and joined the Board in 2016
Marco is a member of the Lutheran Costa Rican Church. He has a long experience in Banking, Finance and International Cooperation. Currently, he works as Economist at the Central Bank of Costa Rica and as a Professor of Economics and Theology at the Universidad Nacional. Marco lives in Heredia, Costa Rica and joined the Board in 2013
