Program of Worship Services for Visitors

(LWI) – The Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession in Brazil (IECLB) has developed a program of worship services and pastoral support to welcome visitors to the 2014 FIFA World Cup from 12 June to 13 July.

The program in different cities in the country aims to build bridges between sports fans from around the globe, while fostering spirituality and encouraging meditation.

World Cup visitors can consult a schedule with worship service times, locations and languages, as well as contacts of pastors available for assistance.

The National Council of Christian Churches of Brazil (CONIC) has joined the initiative and together with the IECLB celebrated an interreligious service in May in the Maracana arena with the participation of different religious leaders affirming sport as a means to build peace and strengthen relationships.
