The Lutheran World Federation will participate in the Commission on the Status of Women, highlighting the digital gender divide and the urgent need to increase women and girl’s access to technology for innovation, especially as it relates to women’s human rights and their ability to participate fully in society, whilst protecting them from online violence.

LWF’s call to action at this year’s CSW includes a challenge to governments to intensify efforts to eliminate all forms of violence against women and girls (including in digital contexts) through the full implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

LWF will also join other civil society organizations to influence the outcome document of the CSW. We will hold parallel and side events to showcase good practice on utilizing Information and Communications Technology for gender equality.
