The global ‘Coming Together’ online meeting of LWF scholars in diakonia provides a space for interaction through mutual sharing and learning. The theme for the upcoming gathering is “A call to care for all creation.” It invites scholars to deeper learning and discussion together about climate change and climate justice, and reflection on personal responsibility to care for creation and take concrete action.

Every year, the LWF grants an average of 45 new scholarships in the fields of diakonia and development. The aim is to equip individuals from LWF’s member churches with knowledge, skills and confidence in order to strengthen the churches’ capacities for holistic mission and improve the livelihoods of local communities. The 2023 grants will be awarded in December 2021.
