Together with other humanitarian organizations, LWF observes World Humanitarian Day on 19 August 2019.
LWF World Service is engaged in long-term development programs and emergency operations across 25 countries in Africa, Asia, Central America and the Middle East. This work is carried out by a strong and committed team of more than 7, 305 colleagues whom we honor on this day.
This year, together with the international humanitarian community, LWF shines a spotlight on women in humanitarian service. Women humanitarians hold a sense of unparalleled uniqueness, one that adds to the global momentum of female strength, power and perseverance. It is time to honor the women who have acted as first responders to the darkest hours of crisis, and who every day contribute in making the world a better place.
