Diaconal actors in LWF’s European regions develop framework for learning resources

The workshop in Helsinki, Finland, is part of LWF’s European Diaconal Process, which began in 2010. A group of 20 diaconal actors representing churches in the three   regions in Europe are discussing the network’s activities , under the theme, “Conviviality: Diaconal Life in Diversity.”

They will start developing a “Learning Program” to support churches to move toward diaconal practices that promote conviviality—the art of living together — in increasingly diverse contexts. The main objectives are to:

• share ideas about conviviality as a core concept for Christian social practice in a diverse society,
• relate convivial thinking to society and politics, the economy and work, stimulate thinking about conviviality, creation and the environment
• continue to strengthen the diaconal practice toward creating a convivial society.
