Government, Economics and Management for an Economy of Life

This week-long training program explores the links between faith and economic justice, equipping participants with language and technical skills to address inequalities in the global financial and economic sectors.

Jointly organized by the Lutheran World Federation, the World Council of Churches, the World Communion of Reformed Churches, the Council for World Mission and the World Methodist Council, the program aims to:

  • Identify theological entry points for economic justice
  • Provide a basic understanding of mainstream economic thinking
  • Widen the horizon of economics by introducing ecological, feminist and other pluralistic approaches
  • Develop an interdisciplinary structure for bridging theological dimensions with economics
  • Lay out the political and strategic implications for churches and their advocacy for an Economy of Life in the context of the New International Financial and Economic Architecture (NIFEA) and the Pilgrimage of Justice and Peace.
