Project holder : Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary

Results :

To commemorate the 500th Reformation anniversary, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary has produced an animated series depicting the life and works of Martin Luther to reinforce Lutheran identity in churches and society, both in Europe and in the global Lutheran communion. The 12 episode animation series on Luther’s life is directed by Hungarian art director for animated films Zsolt Richly, who worked with a team of students and artists from the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design. Targeting the confirmation age group, the film was shown at schools, Bible lessons and in family homes to promote ecumenism from an early age in a language recognizable by the youngest generation. This great animation offers a fresh insight into the historical events at the roots of the Lutheran church identity. It aimed to improve the profile of Lutheran churches in Europe and in other regions of the Lutheran communion.

Project name : Legal Advisor

Project holder : Federation of Evangelical Lutheran Churches in Russia and other States

Results :

In the Soviet era, churches of the Federation of Evangelical Lutheran Churches in Russia and other States, as with many other churches, lost many of its buildings to the regime. In Russia, a new law allows churches and other religious organizations to claim their property back but administrative processes are tedious and lengthy. Many buildings that belong to the church are historical and protected as monuments. Getting permission to carry out renovation requires legal expertise. For these purposes, the legal advisor project finances the staff position of a lawyer to assist the church in various legal processes. With her help, the church has been able to claim back several church and non-church buildings as well as land entitlements in various parts of Russia.
