Lutheran World Information (LWI) is the information service of the Lutheran World Federation. Via this service, OCS provides news and information to the member churches, other Christian world communions and ecumenical organizations, church and secular media and the general public. LWI, both in English and German language editions, has served as the federation's main news source for more than 50 years. The first News Bulletin, issued by the then Lutheran World Convention, appeared in March 1946. The bulletin was designated an "official organ" of the LWF eight months later.
Today, news and feature stories on the life and work of the LWF and its member churches, as well as their common areas of concern, such as ecumenical and interfaith relations, theology, humanitarian assistance, international affairs and human rights, mission and development work, continue to be published by the information service.
Subscribers include the LWF Member Churches, wider ecumenical community, church and secular media, educational institutions including seminaries, universities and libraries, and the general public.
