Who We Are

In this pluralistic, multi-faith, conflicted world, there is an ongoing need for critical theological reflection on what it means to believe and live out the Christian faith as Lutheran churches in diverse settings throughout the world. The theological basis, meaning and implications of what it means to be a communion of churches is what makes the LWF far more than another non-governmental organization (NGO).

Theological work challenges churches to consider new questions and horizons of faithfulness in light of the biblical and confessional heritage we share.
