The LWF has seven vice-presidents, one from each of the LWF regions, who are elected by the Council from among its members. They may be ordained or lay, and represent the LWF in the region to which their respective church belongs.
As with all other Council members, their term of office runs until the close of the next ordinary Assembly.
Current Vice-Presidents
The current vice-presidents, all elected in July 2010 at the Eleventh Assembly in Stuttgart, Germany, are:

- Ms Eun-hae Kwon, Lutheran Church in Korea, LWF Vice President for the Asian region
- Bishop Dr Tamás Fabiny, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary, LWF Vice President for the Central Eastern European region
- Bishop Dr Frank O. July, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Württemberg, LWF Vice President for the Central Western European region
- Rev. Dr Gloria Rojas Vargas, Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chile, LWF Vice President for the Latin American and Caribbean region
- Bishop Helga Haugland Byfuglien, Church of Norway, LWF Vice President for the Nordic region
