The Office for Personnel (OP) is the human resource unit of the LWF. It is responsible for all human resource management functions for Geneva secretariat and Department for World Service (LWF/DWS) international staff members including:

  • Recruitment
  • Employment and remuneration
  • Insurance and administration
  • Performance review
  • Staff development and training
  • General staff welfare

It is mandated to ensure fairness and equity throughout the organization, including compliance with the LWF Code of Conduct Regarding Abuse of Power and Sexual Exploitation.

OP recruits Geneva secretariat executive staff primarily from LWF member churches so as to facilitate their broad participation in the LWF’s day-to-day administration and programmatic work.

Vacancy announcements for Geneva secretariat executive staff and LWF/DWS country representatives are shared with related agencies and other contacts as well as LWF/DWS country offices. OP recruits staff internationally for LWF/DWS country program offices in the event nationals with the required skills cannot be found locally.

Where needed, OP searches for persons with a professional background in project or finance management, community development, logistics or technical skills to provide specialized assistance for disaster relief or long-term development work.
