LWF Vice-Presidents from 1997-2003

Bishop em. Dr Július Filo, former bishop of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in the Slovak Republic, LWF Vice-President from 1997-2003 for the Central Eastern European region.

Ms Parmata Abasu Ishaya, a member of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria and Chief Inspector of Education in Adamawa State, Nigeria, LWF Vice-President from 1997-2003 for the African region.

Rev. Huberto Kirchheim, former president of the Evangelical Church of the Lutheran Confession in Brazil, LWF Vice-President from 1997-2003 for the Latin American and Caribbean region.

Rev. Dr Prasanna Kumari, 1950-2006, former member of the Arcot Lutheran Church, India, and former head of the Department of Women's Studies at Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and Research Institute, Chennai, LWF Vice-President from 1997-2003 for the Asian region.

Bishop Mark S. Hanson, Presiding Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), was elected at the September 2002 LWF Council meeting, as LWF Vice-President for the North American region, serving to 2003.


LWF Treasurer from 2000-2003

Ms Inger Johanne Wremer from the Church of Norway was elected as LWF Treasurer in June 2000 to succeed Dr Sigrun Møgedal, also from Norway, who resigned in March 2000 following her appointment as State Secretary for International Development in the Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ms Wremer is an educationalist, has held a number of senior government positions and is now Director of Norway's Confederation of Norwegian Commercial and Service Enterprises, with special responsibility for voluntary organizations, private hospitals and schools.
