Program and Standing Committees
Program and Standing Committees and their chairpersons are appointed by the Council from among its members. It may also elect up to thirty external advisers, with voting rights on the committees; but with voice and no vote on the Council.
These committees review and evaluate the work of headquarters departments and units and report to the Council.

The Council also appoints an eight-member LWF Project Committee, which oversees LWF project criteria, reviews project screening and approves projects. This committee reports to the Council through the Program Committee for Mission and Development.
