The LWF is constantly challenged to develop new approaches toward the achievement of financial sustainability in an increasingly competitive world.

The Office for Finance and Administration (OFA) provides the necessary infrastructure and services for all LWF units to ensure that the Geneva Secretariat can fulfil its purpose and carry out its tasks in a competent and cost-saving way. The OFA's main functions are to

  • administer the funds and fixed assets of the LWF in accordance with high professional standards and the practices of Christian stewardship.
  • administer and manage the LWF Pension Fund and the LWF Endowment Fund.
  • nurture close relationships with the member churches and other funding partners to ensure adequate funding for the work of the LWF.
  • maintain and develop the LWF computer environment and provide sufficient tools for productive work.

In 2007, the LWF disbursed USD 96.8 million of which USD 12.2 million were used for coordination including project write-offs. USD 84.6 million were distributed to LWF projects and programs.
