Profile

I'm a political scientist turned journalist turned communications officer trying to make myself useful in "upholding the rights of the poor and oppressed." I’m married to Lovisa and a proud father of two daughters.

I decided to serve with World Service because World Service is the social tool of a global church community. It's the collective effort of millions of people. What can be more encouraging than working with that support in your back?

World Service is not a stand-alone NGO. Very little of its programs and relief work would be possible without the donations and prayers of millions of ordinary churchgoers - in my tiny Swedish home town and around the world. I don’t know the exact scope of this community, but it’s a privilege to do hands-on work backed by all of those people out there!

As far as what I hope to learn from my experience with World Service, the first is obviously to get to know a new people, their country, customs and such. I’m also thrilled to get to know the church-related development scene a bit better. And who knows, maybe I’ll learn a useful Amharic proverb or two!
