Theology in the Life of Lutheran Churches: Transformative Perspectives and Practices Today

From 25-31 March 2009 over 100 theologians from some 30 countries convened in Augsburg, Germany, for a concluding consultation in the DTS program “Theology in the Life of the Church.”

The gathering examed how theology and practices are being transformed in light of the different assumptions and approaches present in one global confessional family.

Central themes included biblical interpretation, systematic theology, worship and other practices, and the church’s public role in society.

Check out consultation news and videos or read some of the presenters' papers to find out how the different perspectives within the LWF are reshaping Lutheran theology in the 21st century.
