Comprehensive Capacity Development

The church needs appropriately trained personnel, skilled leadership and efficient, sustainable ways of planning and working to carry out its core ministries such as mission and diakonia.

DMD’s Comprehensive Capacity Development (CCD) program accompanies LWF member churches in becoming better equipped to serve their congregations and communities.

The CCD program works with LWF member churches by:

  • supporting training in management and leadership skills
  • developing personnel policies that take gender and other concerns into consideration
  • advising in strategic planning and project work
  • exploring paths to organizational and financial sustainability
  • assisting in establishing social service programs.

Diverse Activities

Comprehensive capacity development takes various forms to address short and long-term needs identified by member churches in countries as diverse as Colombia, Indonesia, Liberia, Madagascar and the Czech Republic.

Training in project planning, monitoring and evaluation increases the impact of projects in the lives of the people involved.

Workshops on strategic planning help churches to serve more effectively with their different ministries.

Cooperation between partners in the global North and South brings mutual learning.

Biblical Basis

A strong theological foundation undergirds all capacity building work within the LWF.
